06 - 1/8 cup grated Parmesan cheese
07 - 1/2 cup ricotta or cottage cheese

→ Garnish (optional)

08 - Fresh basil leaves
09 - Cracked black pepper

# How-To:

01 - Set the oven temperature to 375°F.
02 - In a medium bowl, combine tomato pasta sauce with dried Italian herbs and garlic powder.
03 - In a separate bowl, blend ricotta or cottage cheese with half of the grated Parmesan cheese.
04 - Lightly grease an 8x8-inch baking dish to prevent sticking.
05 - Spread one quarter of the tomato sauce evenly on the bottom of the baking dish.
06 - Place one ramen noodle brick on top of the sauce, breaking it to fit if necessary.
07 - Distribute one third of the ricotta mixture over the noodles, then sprinkle one third of the shredded mozzarella on top.
08 - Repeat the sauce, noodle, ricotta, and mozzarella layers two more times, finishing with the remaining sauce and the rest of the mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses.
09 - Pour 1/4 cup of water evenly around the edges of the dish to assist noodle cooking.
10 - Cover the dish tightly with aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes.
11 - Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 10 minutes until the top is golden and bubbly.
12 - Allow the dish to rest for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh basil leaves and cracked black pepper if desired.

# Insider Tips:

01 -
  • It tastes like proper lasagna but costs a fraction of what you'd spend on regular pasta sheets.
  • The ramen noodles crisp up at the edges while staying tender inside, creating this unexpectedly satisfying texture.
  • You can make it in under an hour, which means dinner for guests without the stress.
  • It's infinitely customizable—add vegetables, meat, or switch up your cheese blend without changing a thing.
02 -
  • Don't skip the water pour around the edges; the ramen won't cook through properly without that steam, and you'll end up with crunchy noodles in the middle.
  • Discard those seasoning packets completely—they'll make the whole dish taste sharp and one-dimensional instead of layered and sophisticated.
  • The five-minute rest isn't optional; it's what separates sloppy servings from something you'd be proud to plate.
03 -
  • Buy pre-shredded cheese to save yourself ten minutes of work—the anti-caking agents don't matter in a baked dish like this.
  • If your sauce seems thin, let it simmer for a few minutes before assembling; thicker sauce means better layering and less watery results.
  • A 9x9-inch dish works just as well if you don't have exactly 8x8; you're just slightly adjusting the height of your layers.
